DeKALB, Ill. – Sophomore Kelly O'Brien was first across the line in the 1500M race during the Wildcats penultimate event of the outdoor regular-season, the Huskie Classic on Friday night at Northern Illinois University.
The Palatine, Illinois, native won the 1500M in a time of 4:32.92, more than two seconds ahead of the runner-up, and nearly 17-seconds ahead of the third-place finisher at the NIU Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
O'Brien was joined in the event by Mary Orders, who finished in 5:04.94.
Northwestern will wrap up the outdoor track regular-season on May 12 at the Oxy Invitational in Los Angeles, the team's last opportunity to run qualifying times for the NCAA West Preliminary two weeks later in Sacramento.
