EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's men's basketball team learned its 2018-19 Big Ten opponents Thursday when they were revealed by the conference office.
For the first time, the Big Ten announced the expansion to a 20-game league schedule for the 2018-19 campaign.
Each school's conference slate includes seven home-and-home series, in addition to three schools it will play just once at home and another three that it will play just once on the road.
The Wildcats will battle Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State, Rutgers, and Wisconsin in home-and-home series during the upcoming campaign.
Chicago's Big Ten Team also will host Minnesota, Penn State, and Purdue at the newly renovated Welsh-Ryan Arena. Northwestern's lone matchups with Maryland, Michigan State, and Nebraska will take place on the road.
Game dates and times, TV assignments, non-conference opponents will be released at a later date.
