CLEVELAND — Northwestern wrestler Colin Valdiviez has been selected to participate in the 2018 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, after acting as a first-alternate in the 133-lb. weight class.
Valdiviez will replace Nebraska's Jason Renteria in the bracket and will wrestle 13th-seeded Bryan Lantry of Buffalo in the first round.
With the addition, Northwestern now has five wrestlers in the event — its most since qualifying six in 2015.
The first session will begin at 11 a.m. at the Quicken Loans Arena and will be broadcast on ESPNU.
