MINNEAPOLIS — Northwestern took ninth place at the 2018 Men's Swimming and Diving Championships with a score of 260.
Indiana won its second consecutive title by finishing with a score of 1,658.
Northwestern leaned on a pair of first years in the mile on Saturday night. DJ Hwang scored 11 points in the 1650 free by taking 16th with a time of 15:16.73, while Liam Gately took 19th with a time of 15:25.18.
Tyler Lis qualified for the B-Final of the 200 back and took seventh in the race with an NCAA 'B' time of 1:44.52. John Thorne scored six points for NU in the same event by taking third in the C-Final with a time of 1:43.79.
Justin Hanson swam in the 200 fly and touched the wall in 1:48.44.
Northwestern took 10th in the 400 free relay with a time of 2:57.02.
