EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern is ranked No. 25 in the NWCA/USA TODAY Coaches' Poll, it was announced this week.
Thanks to NU's 6-1 start to the campaign, Chicago's Big Ten Team enters the rankings for the first time since November 2015.
Individually, four Wildcats appear in Intermat's top-25, led by redshirt-first year Ryan Deakin (149) who ranks No. 4. Other ranked first-years include No. 10 Sebastian Rivera (125) and No. 18 Colin Valdiviez (133), while redshirt junior Johnny Sebastian (174) rounds out the rankings at No. 18.
NU is one of ten ranked Big Ten squads, with the conference comprising 40 percent of the top-25.
The Wildcats look to continue their hot start Friday versus No. 16 Wisconsin in Evanston at 7 p.m. at historic Patten Gymnasium. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for youth.
