EVANSTON, Ill. — First-year defender Garrett Opperman has been named to College Soccer News' All-Freshman Third Team, the site announced Wednesday.
Opperman was an integral part of Northwestern's defense during the 2017 season, playing every minute of the season with a team-best 1736 minutes. The #B1GCats' center back helped the team tally seven victories on the season, including three shutout wins.
The Minneapolis, Minnesota, native was one of seven unanimous selections to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team following the season.
