Wu Paces Wildcats in Day One of Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills

ERIN, Wis. — Senior Dylan Wu picked up where he left off at Erin Hills, finding the fescue no challenge en route to his team-leading 71 (-1) in the opening round of the Marquette Intercollegiate on Sunday.

Wu, who finished tied for seventh at the same golf course in his first season with Northwestern, is tied for fourth after 18 holes of competition. He logged three birdies on par fours in his performance.
 
As a team, Northwestern sits in ninth place (+13) after day one at the host course of the 2017 U.S. Open.
 
Trailing Wu for the Wildcats were sophomore Everton Hawkins (+3) and junior Ryan Lumsden (+4), who sit in 28th and 37th, respectively, among the tough competition.
 
First year Eric McIntosh (+7) and senior Sam Triplett (+7) round out the lineup for the Wildcats, while junior Luke Miller posted a 5-over 77 as an individual.
 
NU will play their second of three rounds on Monday before concluding on Tuesday.
