FRANKLIN, Tenn. – All six Wildcats finished under par in Sunday's final round of the 2017 Mason Rudolph Championship as Northwestern earned a fifth-place result at the Vanderbilt Legends Club. The 'Cats carded an 847 as a team in the 5-count-4 format, the second-best score in school history.
Norhtwestern was led by senior Sarah Cho and junior Stephanie Lau, who shared 14th place at 5-under par. Senior Hannah Kim was just one shot back in 18th, while junior Janet Mao posted a 3-under 213 to finish in 22nd.

Each of the six competing Wildcats finished in the red in Sunday's final round, headlined by Monica Matsubara's career-best 68. Competing as an individual and teeing off on No. 10, the junior carded three birdies and finished her loop with an eagle on the 455-yard, Par-5 No. 9.
The weekend competition at the Legends Club was highlighted by Cho's 6-under 66 in Saturday's second round, the second-lowest score in program history.

The field for the 54-hole event (36 holes Monday, 18 on Tuesday) includes Arizona, Arizona State, California, Duke, Florida, Iowa State, Michigan State, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Purdue, San Diego State, Tulane and UC-Davis, and features nine teams that competed in the 2017 NCAA Women's Golf Championships at Rich Harvest Farms.
