NU Continues Winning Ways Against Army

CHICAGO, Ill. — The Wildcats extended their winning streak to six-straight matches with a four-set victory over Army on Saturday morning at DePaul's McGrath-Phillips Arena.
 
Northwestern dominated the match from the beginning, putting up a .560 hitting percentage in the first-set rout of Army. Senior Gabrielle Hazen posted an .800 hitting percentage, making four kills on five attempts. NU held the Black Knights to an .080 hitting percentage in the match opener.
 
The 'Cats continued their offensive prowess into the second set, hitting at a .350 clip. NU pulled away from Army late, winning 25-15.
 
The Black Knights took the third set, 25-23, thanks in part to outhitting Northwestern, .387 to .250. The Army set victory snapped Northwestern's streak of 14-straight, dating back to the Wildcats' win over South Carolina, Sept. 8.
 
NU was able to bounce-back in the fourth and final set, limiting Milwaukee to a sub-.100 hitting percentage in a set for the third time. The Wildcats picked up a 25-18 victory to seal their victory.
