2017-18 Schedule
EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern unveiled its entire 2017-18 schedule on Thursday, adding one exhibition and 14 nonconference contests to the Big Ten slate previously released on Aug. 16.
The Wildcats' 30-game schedule is highlighted by two Big Ten Network appearances in conference play and a trip to the Challenge in Music City tournament over Thanksgiving weekend in Nashville, Tennessee.
Northwestern will play its 2017-18 home games at historic Beardsley Gym at Evanston Township High School while Welsh-Ryan Arena undergoes a $110 million renovation.
Chicago's Big Ten Team opens the year at ETHS with an exhibition against Missouri-St. Louis on Nov. 5. The regular season opens on the road Nov. 10 at Chicago State.
NU plays non-conference home games at ETHS against Oakland (Nov. 16), Santa Clara (Nov. 22), Milwaukee (Dec. 3), Stony Brook (Dec. 10), DePaul (Dec. 13), and Eastern Illinois (Dec. 22). The Dec. 19 contest against Green Bay will be held at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.
Northwestern's trip to Music City will include contests against Chattanooga, Auburn, and Georgetown over the course of the three days following Thanksgiving Day.
In addition to the game at Chicago State, the 'Cats also travel to UT-Martin (Nov. 18), Syracuse for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge (Nov. 30), and Missouri State (Dec. 16).
The Wildcats enter Big Ten Play at the end of December by hosting Minnesota on Dec. 28 at ETHS and then traveling downstate to Illinois on New Year's Eve. The new year will see Northwestern play twice on Big Ten Network, Jan. 21 at Wisconsin (4:30 p.m.) and Feb. 4 at Indiana (11 a.m.).
Northwestern plays home-and-home games against Illinois (Dec. 31, Feb. 18), Wisconsin (Jan. 11, Jan. 21), and Michigan (Jan. 28, Feb. 8). In addition to those contests and the conference opener against Minnesota, the 'Cats also welcome Nebraska (Jan. 7), Maryland (Jan. 25), Iowa (Feb. 11), and Rutgers (Feb. 25) to ETHS.
Chicago's Big Ten Team also travels to Michigan State (Jan. 3), Purdue (Jan. 18), Penn State (Feb. 14), and Ohio State (Feb. 21).
The 25th annual Big Ten Tournament will be held Feb. 28-March 4 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
