EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will play four nationally televised games this fall, the Big Ten Conference announced Thursday.
The reigning Big Ten champions will be featured on Big Ten Network three times, twice on the road against Penn State (Sept. 14) and Indiana (Sept. 28), and once at home versus Minnesota on Oct. 12.
Chicago's Big Ten Team will also make an appearance on the ESPN family of networks with a Sept. 17 noon match at Ohio State aired on ESPNU.
Northwestern is tied for the most national TV appearances in the conference with Rutgers. In addition to its regular season coverage, BTN will televise one Big Ten Tournament quarterfinal from a campus site on Oct. 29, as well as the semifinals and final from Westfield, Ind.
The Wildcats begin the 2017 regular season on Friday at Martin Stadium against DePaul. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.
