EVANSTON, Ill. — Sophomore Sean Lynch scored a pair of goals and Ty Seager tallied two assists to lead Northwestern over Eastern Illinois, 2-1, in exhibition action at Martin Stadium.
The teams played three 30-minute periods Saturday afternoon.
Eastern Illinois' lone goal came on a penalty kick in the third period from Jonathan Huerta.
The Wildcats held a 12-5 advantage in shots and put eight of those shot on net. Matt Moderwell and Elo Ozumba each recorded a pair of shots, while Lynch had three and Seager had four.
Head coach Tim Lenahan played three goalies on Saturday. Francisco Tomasino and Miha Miskovic posted clean sheets, while Robbie White was in net for EIU's penalty kick.
Northwestern will continue its preseason campaign with a trip downstate to play Bradley (Aug. 15) and SIUE (Aug. 18).
