EVANSTON, Ill. — The Northwestern men's soccer team begins its 2017 preseason campaign on Saturday, Aug. 12, when it hosts Eastern Illinois for a 1 p.m. CT contest at Martin Stadium.
Following the game Northwestern's coaching staff and student-athletes will put on a free clinic for all kids 8th grade and younger. Fans can preregister for the post-match clinic and get involved in group opportunities during Saturday's match by emailing Andrew.Frey@Northwestern.edu. Day of registration is also available.
Eastern Illinois returns seven starters from a 5-12-1 overall campaign in 2016. The Panthers were led last season by freshman Alex Castaneda, who found the back of the net three times in his rookie year.
Following the contest with EIU, the Wildcats head to Bradley (Aug. 15) and SIU-Edwardsville (Aug. 18) to round out its preseason campaign.
