Northwestern Announces Competitive 2017 Schedule

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will seek to defend its 2016 Big Ten championship with a competitive 2017 schedule featuring 10 matches against 2016 NCAA tournament teams, including six that are conference opponents.
 
The Wildcats will play two exhibitions and 18 regular season matches while seeking a third straight NCAA tournament appearance under head coach Michael Moynihan.
 
The 2017 schedule features nine home matches at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium in addition to an exhibition contest against Notre Dame on Aug. 13. Chicago's Big Ten Team opens the regular season by hosting DePaul on Aug. 18 at 7 p.m., where the 2016 Big Ten championship will be celebrated.  Other non-conference home contests include Cincinnati (Sept. 3) and NCAA tournament teams Missouri (Sept. 7) and Pepperdine (Sept. 10).
 
Northwestern's first Big Ten home match is on Sept. 22 against Rutgers at 7 p.m. Maryland comes to town on Sept. 24, and the home conference season wraps up with a three-match homestand against Minnesota (Oct. 12), Wisconsin (Oct. 15) and Nebraska (Oct. 20).
 
Season tickets for all nine regular season contests at Martin Stadium go on sale July 10.
 
The Wildcats travel to Butler on Aug. 8 for the first exhibition match of the season. The first regular season road action of the year takes Northwestern on a three-match jaunt to Illinois State (Aug. 20), Long Beach State (Aug. 24), and Loyola Marymount (Aug. 27).
 
The Big Ten season begins with two road matches, the first at Penn State on Sept. 14 and the second a trip to Ohio State on Sept. 17. Another three-match swing takes Northwestern to Indiana (Sept. 28), Purdue (Oct. 1), and Illinois (Oct. 7). The regular season concludes with a match at Michigan State on Oct. 25.
 
Postseason dates and television designations will be announced at a later date.

Sunday Futbol – Wear your favorite team's NFL jersey and receive $3 tickets to the game
