EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's buzzer-beating win over Michigan on March 1 has moved on to be one the final eight nominees for the "Best Play" category at the 2017 ESPYS.
Nathan Taphorn's length-of-the-court pass to Dererk Pardon for a game-winning layup at the buzzer was seeded No. 4 among the 16 plays initially under consideration for the award. The Wildcats' play advanced through the first round of voting in the bracket-style format.
The second round of voting is currently underway and continues through July 4. The final four finalists that are up for receiving the ESPY will be announced the following day.
The 2017 ESPYS will be televised on ABC July 12 beginning at 7 p.m. Central.
