SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Dylan Wu fired a final round 69 on Sunday to finish the 2017 Desert Mountain Intercollegiate in fourth place, and lead the Wildcats to a runner-up finish on the team leaderboard.

The Wildcats placed two golfers in the Top-6, five in the Top-18, and all six competing student-athletes in the Top-25, including freshman Everton Hawkins scoring as an individual. Northwestern led the tournament with 68 birdies over the two days.
Wu followed an opening round 72 with a 4-under 68 in Round 2, and a 3-under 69 in the third-and-final round, tied for Sunday's best card on a difficult day for scoring. Among his five birdies on Sunday, the junior birdied three of the Outlaw Course's four Par-5 offerings. As a team, the 'Cats played the Par-5's at 11-under during the tournament, third-best in the field. Wu's two rounds in the 60's this weekend were his team-best seventh and eighth sub-70 rounds this season, and paced his team-leading fifth Top-10 finish of the season.
Hawkins posted the best stroke play finish of his college career, earning a share of sixth-place. The rookie's second-round 67 matched the best round of his campaign. Ryan Lumsden picked up his fourth Top-20 result of the season, taking a share of 16th, while Sam Triplett and Conor Richardson finished tied for 18th, the latter thanks to a final round 69, his best round of the year thus far.
Northwestern will be off from competition for nearly a month before teeing off at the Redhawks Invitational in University Place, Washington, on April 3.
