EVANSTON, Ill. – The WBCA has selected Nia Coffey as a regional finalist for the organization's 2017 Coaches' All-America Team.
Coffey is one of 12 All-America candidates from Region 4 and one of 52 overall. That list will be narrowed down to the 10-member All-America class and announced Saturday, April 1, during the WBCA Convention.
Coffey had a remarkable senior season at Northwestern, earning a spot on five national player of the year watch lists and receiving First Team All-Big Ten honors for the fourth straight year. She was the only player in the country to average 20 points and 10 rebounds per game. Coffey scored in double figures 26 times, recorded 15 20-point games and reached 30 three times.
The All-America candidate is Northwestern's all-time leader in rebounds (1,183), free throws made (496) and consecutive double-digit scoring games (66). She finished second all-time in points with 2,287.
