MOORPARK, Calif. -- Sophomore Stephanie Lau carded a 4-under 68 to share medalist honors in the Pepperdine Triangular, a single-round competition pitting No. 14 Northwestern against No. 2 Southern California and the hosts. The Wildcats posted the low team score thanks to three golfers in the Top-9 and four in the Top-11.
Lau was masterful at Moorpark Country Club on Saturday, recording five birdies and 12 pars during her round. Classmate Janet Mao finished fourth at 1-under, with an eagle-3 and 14 pars on her card.
Junior Hannah Kim earned a share of ninth with a 2-over 74, while Sarah Cho (+3) rounded out the scoring quartet for head coach Emily Fletcher's side. Senior Kacie Komoto carded a 5-over 77.
Competing as individuals, Monica Matsubara secured a share of 11th with a 3-over 75, and Brooke Riley finished with a 4-over 76.
The Wildcats will return to action on Sunday, April 2, when they match up against No. 10 Duke in a dual competition in Greensboro, N.C.
