SEATTLE -- Northwestern got singles wins from Maddie Lipp at No. 2 and Rheeya Doshi at No. 4, but the 38th-ranked Wildcats suffered a 5-2 loss at No. 25 Washington Sunday afternoon.

After dropping the doubles point and the first singles match to finish, Lipp got NU on the board with a straight-sets win over Nour Abbes, 6-3, 6-1. However, wins by the Huskies at Nos. 3 and 6 clinched the match for the hosts.

Doshi was able to earn another point for the 'Cats when she won a third-set superbreaker, defeating Alexis Prokopuik 4-6, 6-4, 10-1.

Northwestern returns to action March 19 when it hosts Texas Tech.
