PHOENIX — Northwestern held a 3-2 lead in the ninth inning, but Arizona State managed to plate a pair of runs in the bottom half of the frame to walk-off with a 4-3 in the nightcap of Friday's doubleheader at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.

JR Reimer worked an inning, facing six batters and was credited with the loss. Freshman Hank Christie started the game for the Wildcats and pitched 3.2 innings, striking out three and allowing no runs and two hits.
Arizona State (2-0) earned the win in the ninth inning after A. Snow singled through the left side to bring home the tying run with no outs. The #B1GCats managed to get a pair of outs, but then L, Lin and S. Zawada each singled to eventually capture the win for the Sun Devils in walk-off fashion.
Jake Godfrey tossed 29 pitches in 2.1 innings and was credited with the win.
