EVANSTON, Ill. – No. 8 Northwestern continues its dual meet season on Saturday when it travels to South Bend, Ind. for the DiCicco Duals hosted by Notre Dame.
The 20-5 Wildcats are coming off a strong showing at the Philadelphia Duals weekend where they picked up wins against No. 9 Temple, Sacred Heart, Cornell and Johns Hopkins.
Sophomore Maddy Curzon led the team with an 8-1 record and Katie Van Riper was 9-3. 12 fencers finished the Philadelphia Duals with a winning record.
The 'Cats will face Wayne State, Detroit, Florida, Notre Dame and Lawrence in that order. Competition starts at 8 a.m.
Northwestern already squared off against Florida this season, shutting out the Gators 27-0 at the Western Invitational on Jan. 15.
Last year at the January NU Duals in South Bend, the #B1GCats beat Wayne State 20-7, and Lawrence 24-3. At the October NU Duals in Evanston, the team dominated Detroit 26-1.
The Fighting Irish are ranked No. 3 in the country this season and are coming off a weekend at the St. John's Invitational and NYU Invitational where they picked up wins over No. 1 Columbia, No. 4 Ohio State, No. 5 Penn State, No. 7 Harvard, and No. 9 St. John's.
