EVANSTON, Ill. – Fresh off its third Big Ten road win of the season, the Northwestern men's basketball team returns home to Welsh-Ryan Arena Sunday when it takes on Iowa. Tip time is set for 6:30 p.m.
Northwestern (14-4, 3-2 B1G) is beginning a stretch of playing three of its next four games at home, coming off an opening stretch to the Big Ten season during which they played four of their first five games on the road.
The Wildcats improved to 3-1 in Big Ten road games already this season with a 69-60 victory at Rutgers on Thursday. Vic Law scored 19 of his game-high 23 points in the second half while Dererk Pardon finished just shy of a triple-double, recording 8 points, 11 rebounds and a career-high 8 blocked shots. NU set a school record with 15 blocks as a team in the contest.
The 'Cats rank second in the Big Ten and sixth nationally with an average of 6.5 blocked shots per game.
Scottie Lindsey has scored in double figures in all 18 games this season. It's the most consecutive games with 10+ points for a Northwestern player since John Shurna compiled 22 in a row during the 2011-12 campaign. It's the most consecutive to start a season since Evan Eschmeyer opened the 1998-99 season with 24 straight.
Northwestern ranks 11th nationally with a .772 team free throw percentage. Over the last three games, the Wildcats have connected on 43 of their 47 attempts from the charity stripe (.915).
Northwestern and Iowa have split their last 16 matchups going back to the 2008-09 season. Iowa won last year's lone meeting with Northwestern, 85-71, Jan. 31 in Iowa City despite the Wildcats getting a career-high 30 points from Tre Demps.
