EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern sophomore center Dererk Pardon suffered a hand injury in Monday night's game against Wake Forest and underwent successful surgery Thursday morning.
The injury occurred during the second half of Monday's contest. Pardon will be reevaluated following the conclusion of nonconference play in late December.
Pardon has started each of the Wildcats' first seven games this season. He is averaging 6.9 points and a team-leading 7.0 rebounds per game while ranking third in the Big Ten with an average of 2.6 blocked shots per contest.
Northwestern (5-2) returns to action at 6 p.m. Saturday when it hosts DePaul at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
