Northwestern Set for Two Day Quad Meet

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern men's swimming and diving will hit the pool in Lexington, Ky., on this weekend as they take on host-Kentucky, Southern Illinois and Missouri in a two-day quad meet. Proceedings will begin on Friday, Nov. 4 at 5 p.m. CT, and resume on Saturday at 10 a.m.
 
Kentucky is ranked No. 18 in the latest College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll, while Missouri is tabbed as No. 20.

Following wins over Eastern Michigan, University of Chicago, UIC, and Olivet Nazarene to begin the season, NU fell in away competitions at No. 3 NC State (Oct.  28) and, most recently, at No. 26 Duke (Oct. 29) last weekend.
 
The Wildcats had several standout individual performances in their contest with Duke. Senior Jordan Wilimovsky set a Duke University pool record in the 1,000 free with a time of 9:04.24, beating the runner-up by over 22 seconds. Wilimovsky also won the 500 free and finished second in the 200 free, an event won by NU senior Charlie Cole with a time of 1:40.48.
 
Kentucky enters the two-day quad meet with a 2-2 record. The Wildcats have picked up wins over South Carolina and Tennessee and dropped competitions to Auburn and Indiana.
 
Southern Illinois has begun the season brightly, with wins at Evansville and at McKendree University.
 
Missouri has only competed once so far this season, dropping a dual meet to Alabama on Oct. 14.
 
Events on Friday will include 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events, 200 free relay, 200 IM, 500 free, 100 breast, 200 back, 100 free, 200 fly and 400 medley relay. The meet will resume Saturday morning with platform dive, 200 medley relay, 1000 free, 50 free, 100 back, 200 breast, 100 fly, 200 free, 400 IM and 400 free relay.
