EVANSTON, Ill. --
Taylor Tashima climbed into fifth in program history for assists, and Symone Abbott moved into 15th on the all-time kills list during the Wildcats' match with No. 2 Minnesota on Sunday night at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

The Golden Gophers defeated Northwestern in three sets a day after the 'Cats took No. 3 Wisconsin to five sets.

Symone Abbott registered 11 kills to bring her career total up to 1,152. In the last few weeks, she has moved from 19th to 15th all-time in program history, surpassing Miriam Stariha (1988-91), Kathy Burns (1984-97), Sabel Moffett (2007-10) and Pattijean McCahill (1980-83). If Abbott continues her pace she could finish in 13th by the end of the season with a year still to go.

Taylor Tashima recorded 22 assists against Minnesota and after this weekend, boasts 2,909 career assists, the fifth-highest total in program history. Tashima surpassed Andrea Kroos, who donned the purple and white from 1985 to 1988.

Freshman Sarah Johnson recorded double-digit digs for the sixth match in a row and the ninth time this season.

Chicago's Big Ten Team remains at home next weekend when it hosts Ohio State on Friday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. and Maryland on Senior Night at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19.
