‘Cats Earn Split in First Day of Match Play at Gifford Collegiate

NAPA, Calif. -- Northwestern defeated Colorado in the first round of match play, 3-2-1, before dropping to top-seeded USC in a hard-found battle (4-2-0) on Tuesday at the Gifford Collegiate.
 
Fifth-year senior Andrew Whalen and transfer Conor Richardson won both of their matches Tuesday.

The Wildcats will face off against Washington in the third-place consolation match on Wednesday.
