EVANSTON, Ill. — Due to the cancelation of last week's match with Loyola, Northwestern has added an additional contest to its schedule. The Wildcats will play Marian (WI) on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at Martin Stadium with first kick coming at 4:30 p.m. CT.
Tuesday's game will be Northwestern's 'After School Special' at Martin Stadium. Admission to the game is free and early arriving fans will receive a free t-shirt. With the combination of an early start time and a forecast calling for temperatures in the 70s, it's a great option for fans to catch a game.
Northwestern (5-10-1, 3-4-1 B1G) is coming off a 1-0 victory over Penn State on senior day (Oct. 30) at Martin Stadium that pushed the Wildcats into a tie with Ohio State in the final Big Ten Conference standings.
The #B1GCats will be the No. 7 seed in the conference tournament and travel to No. 2 Indiana on Sunday, Nov. 6 for a Noon contest. Northwestern and Indiana played to a scoreless draw on Sept. 18.
Marian (WI) is a Division III program and member of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC). The Sabres finished their season 6-9-1 overall and placed seventh in the NACC standings, just outside the final spot for the league tournament.
Alonso Fragoso led the team this season with 24 points on 10 goals and four assists, while Muhammed Abshir was second in point total with 13 (six goals, one assist). Ian Chacon saw a majority of action in the net and posted a 1.80 goals against average.
