EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Northwestern redshirt junior Maddie Lipp saw her singles run end in a tight match at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships on Monday.
With a spot in the semifinal round on the line, Lipp suffered a 3-6, 7-5, 6-0 loss to Michigan freshman Chiara Lommer. Lipp, who was the No. 2 seed in the draw, had multiple match points in the second set, but Lommer -- a No. 9-12 seed -- was able to rally back to move on in the tournament.
Northwestern's team returns to action Nov. 3-6 when it competes at the Kramer Classic in Rolling Hills Estates, California.
