Northwestern will compete at the fourth-annual Marquette Intercollegiate on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 2-3, at the Milwaukee Country Club in Milwaukee, Wisc. The event will be the third for the Wildcats this season.
The golfers will play a 7,097-yard, par-70 field at Milwaukee CC, which will be the site of the Marquette Intercollegiate for the first time. The course hosted the U.S. Mid-Amateur Golf championship in 2008.
Play will consist of five-man teams with the best four scores counting towards the daily total. Teams will play 36 holes on Sunday and 18 holes on Monday. The event features nine other teams from across the country: Marquette, Liberty, Ole Miss, Northern Illinois, Seton Hall, SMU, UCLA, Valparaiso, and Wisconsin.
The Wildcats previously competed at Marquette in 2014 at the Erin Hills Intercollegiate, finishing fourth among 11 teams. Dylan Wu placed seventh at the event.
Northwestern's quintet will be junior Dylan Wu, sophomore, Ryan Lumsden, fifth-year senior Andrew Whalen, freshman Everton Hawkins, and junior Sam Triplett. Graduate transfer Conor Richardson will play as an individual.
Wu paced Northwestern for the second-consecutive tournament last weekend at the Windon Memorial. The junior Wu finished second in the individual standings, while Lumsden and Whalen also placed among the field's top 10.
