EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern junior Pascale Massey is the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Offensive Player of the Week. The recognition comes one day after Massey was recognized as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.
Massey came up with clutch goals to help the Wildcats defeat a pair of top-10 opponents at home last week. She scored the game-winner against then-No. 4 Penn State on Friday, giving Northwestern a 4-2 lead in a contest it would go on to win 5-3. On Sunday against then-No. 6 Maryland, Massey scored in the second minute to give the Wildcats an early lead and tallied in the 60th minute to break a 2-2 tie and give Northwestern a 3-2 victory.
Northwestern moved up five places to No. 6 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll following the two victories.
Massey is tied for fourth on the team with four goals this season.
The Wildcats (8-2, 3-0 B1G) return to action at 1:30 p.m. Central time Friday at Rutgers before play at Drexel at 11 a.m. CT Sunday.
