EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern travels to Columbus, Ohio for a Wednesday night showdown with the No. 19 Ohio State Buckeyes that will be nationally televised on Big Ten Network at 5:30 p.m. CT.
 
The Wildcats (7-7, 0-2) and the Buckeyes (10-4, 0-2) will each be searching for their first conference win of the young season.
 
Mike Wolf and Kim Kuzma will have the call for BTN.
 
MILESTONE TRACKER
Taylor Tashima moved into seventh-place all-time at Northwestern in assists against Penn State on Sunday. She currently sits at 2,486 for her career and is 51 away from sixth. At her current pace she could end up as high as fourth by the end of the season.
 
SYMONE SLAM
Junior outside hitter Symone Abbott has been an important offensive weapon for the Wildcats in 2016. She is averaging 4.21 kills per set so far, which ranks first in the Big Ten and 35th nationally. The program record is 3.83.
 
She had 22 kills in a three-set match vs. George Washington to open the season, which is the 12th-most in the NCAA this year and second-most in program history for a three-setter. She has registered 10 or more kills in all 14 matches of the 2016 season. Abbott is hitting .242 for the season, and her .700 mark against Buffalo (14-for-20) is the eighth-best performance in the country for players with 20 or more attempts.
 
"ATTACK, 11…KILL"
Maddie Slater is hitting .352 this season, which ranks as the best single-season performance in program history. Last season, her .344 hitting percentage was the fourth highest total. Slater's .318 career mark is also the best in Northwestern history.
