EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern sophomore Eva van Agt (Hattem, The Netherlands/Gymnasium Celeanum) is the Big Ten Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the Conference office Tuesday.
The midfielder/forward posted three goals and an assist in leading Northwestern (6-2, 1-0 B1G) to a pair of road wins last weekend. She scored her three goals on three shots.
In the team's 5-1 victory over Ohio State in its Big Ten opener on Friday, van Agt tallied a goal to help lead NU to the convincing win. In the 4-1 victory over Kent State on Sunday, van Agt helped Northwestern come back from an early deficit as she contributed to three of the team's four tallies.
She ranks tied for third on the team with four goals this season and fourth with nine points.
Northwestern is ranked No. 11 in the nation by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) heading into a pair of key home matches against top-10 opponents this weekend. The Wildcats host No. 4 Penn State at 3 p.m. Friday at Lakeside Field before taking on sixth-ranked Maryland at noon Sunday.
