"ATTACK, 11…KILL"
Maddie Slater returns to the Wildcats for her senior season in 2016 after an impressive 2015. Last season, her .344 hitting percentage was the fourth highest single-season mark in program history. She sits at .338 this season, and her career hitting percentage of .315 is the best in program history.

TRIED AND TESTED
Chicago's Big Ten Team will face one of the most difficult schedules in the country in 2016. A year after playing the nation's hardest schedule, the Wildcats' slate again ranks up there among the hardest, currently coming in 38th nationally after four weeks. Northwestern's future opposition has combined for a 115-31 (.788) record. That is the second hardest future schedule in the country. Eight future conference opponents are in this week's Top-25, while two opponents are receiving votes.

The Wildcats face 17 teams who appeared in the 2015 NCAA tournament. They also have 13 matches against teams who were ranked and receiving votes at the end of last season. Northwestern will play six conference matches against the four teams predicted to finish at the top of the conference -- Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Penn State.

WHERE THEY RANK
Northwestern ranks 11th in the Big Ten in hitting percentage (.247) and 13th in kills (12.38). The team is eighth in aces (1.27). Individually, Symone Abbott leads the conference with 4.24 kills per set. Sofia Lavin ranks 13th with 0.34 aces per set, and Taylor Tashima ranks 12th with 8.8 assists per set. New libero Katie Kniep is seventh with 4.1 digs per set.
