EVANSTON, Ill. – Sophomore defender Hannah Davison has been named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Davison helped lead the Wildcats to a 2-0 record last week against Illinois State and Marquette to close out NU's non-conference schedule with a perfect 7-0-0 record. The Geneva, Ill., native anchored a defense that saw its fifth and sixth shutouts of the season and provided the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over the Golden Eagles.
Davison and the Wildcats return to action on Thursday, Sept. 15, when they host Indiana at Lanny & Sharon Martin Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., and will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network.
