Pomona, N.J. — Northwestern began its preseason campaign with six players getting on the score sheet to cruise to an 8-0 victory over South Jersey Select on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Stockton College.
Junior Elo Ozumba led the way for the Wildcats with three goals and an assist in the contest, while senior Mike Roberge chipped in a goal and two assists in the first half.
Northwestern built a 4-0 first half lead on goals from Matt Moderwell, Ozumba (2) and M. Roberge.
The Wildcats' offensive attack didn't let up in the second half as Ty Seager, Getenet Tuji, Ozumba and Mac Mazzola found the back of the net to go on to win 8-0. Tuji, Jeffrey Hopson, Sean Lynch and Sam Forsgren all accounted for assists in the half.
Robbie White, Francisco Tomasino and Braden Thuraisingham combined for the shutout.
Northwestern will return to action on Tuesday, Aug. 16 when it takes on defending Patriot League champion Colgate at 11 a.m. CT.
