EVANSTON, Ill. – One week before Northwestern kicks off the 2016 season against Western Michigan, the Wildcats will host the annual Meet The Team Night on Friday, August 26, at Ryan Field.
Gate V of Ryan Field will open for Meet The Team Night, a free event, at 5:30 p.m. Free parking is available in Ryan Field's East Lot, accessible from Central Street.
At 6 p.m., Dan & Susan Jones Family Head Football Coach Pat Fitzgerald will address the Wildcats community on Randy Walker Terrace, on the north end of the stadium, and introduce Northwestern's 2016 team captains for the first time.
Following the announcement of the Wildcats captains, fans of all ages will have the opportunity to interact with student-athletes on Ryan Field. Fans can play catch with their favorite players, attempt field goals, take pictures and run races on Ryan Field with members of the Northwestern Football Family.
Courtesy of Eisenberg, fans will be able purchase hot dogs for the low price of $1 at Meet the Team Night. In addition, Coca-Cola will supply drinks for $1 on August 26.

The 2016 campaign begins on Saturday, Sept. 3 when the Wildcats welcome preseason MAC favorite Western Michigan at 11 a.m. With four straight home tilts to open the campaign, Chicago's Big Ten Team will also host Illinois State (Sept. 10, 2:30 p.m.), ACC foe Duke (Sept. 17, 7 p.m.) and Big Ten West rival Nebraska (Sept. 24, 6:30 p.m.) in September, with the latter two matchups played in prime time. The 'Cats will also welcome Indiana, Wisconsin and Illinois to Evanston this fall.
