Northwestern to Face Texas in Legends Classic

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will take on Texas Monday, Nov. 21 in a semifinal-round matchup of the Legends Classic at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The game will be broadcast by ESPN3 and follows the first game of the evening featuring Notre Dame and Colorado. The winners and the losers of Monday's contests will square off the following day. Tuesday's consolation game will be televised by ESPNU while the championship game will be broadcast on ESPN2.

Texas is one of four teams that appeared in last season's NCAA tournament that the Wildcats will be facing in nonconference play. The Longhorns posted a 20-13 record a year ago under first-year head coach Shaka Smart. Texas is slated to return seven individuals from last year's team while welcoming a pair of McDonald's All-Americans.

Northwestern and Texas have split two previous meetings. The Wildcats posted a 73-71 win Dec. 21, 1965 in Memphis, Tennessee, while the Longhorns notched a 63-59 victory in the most recent meeting between the schools Dec. 23, 1974 in Austin.

In conjunction with the Legends Classic, Northwestern will host regional round contests against Eastern Washington (Nov. 14) and Bryant (Nov. 25) at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
