Nielsen Pro Tennis Championships
WINNETKA, Ill. – Rising seniors Konrad Zieba and Strong Kirchheimer will partner up in the doubles draw of the USTA Nielsen Pro Tennis Championship this week.
The Northwestern duo is a Wildcard selection to the international tournament, meaning they were selected by tournament officials to compete.
The 2016 All-Big Ten selections square off against the No. 1 ranked tandem in their draw, Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Divij Sharan of India. Nedunchezhiyan and Sharan are ranked just outside the top-100 in the world in doubles play.
Kirchheimer spent the past season at No. 1 doubles, while Zieba played at No. 2. Each earned 19 wins at their respective spots, with Zieba and playing partner Sam Shropshire posting a 19-4 record in 2016.
