EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern senior and graduate student-athletes will join their peers on Ryan Field Friday morning, June 17, to participate in the school's 158th Commencement ceremony.
To begin the weekend's festivities, Northwestern University's N Club will hold its annual Induction and Senior Recognition Banquet at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 16. The N Club helps former Wildcats letterwinners maintain their ties and strengthen their alumni network.
The N Club dates to 1914 when alumni started the Association of N Men. In 1926, more formal steps were taken to establish an "effective N men's organization." More than 200 members attended the inaugural dinner in 1928. In 1975, the N Men's Club was renamed the N Club to reflect the establishment of intercollegiate athletics for women at Northwestern University.
