EVANSTON, Ill. -- Midfielder Elena Curley and back Kirsten Mansfield have been chosen to represent Northwestern at the upcoming Young Women's National Championship.
The event is being held June 28 - July 3 at Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The Young Women's National Championship serves as a high-level, international-structured competition and the selection venue for the 2016-17 United States Under-21 Women's National Team.
The 2016 season will be the first competition for both Curley and Mansfield at Northwestern. Mansfield redshirted the 2015 season as a freshman, while Curley joins the Wildcats after playing her first two seasons at Ohio University. Curley posted five goals and four assists for the Bobcats a year ago as a sophomore.
