Northwestern's season will continue in the NCAA postseason this year after earning the No. 9 seed at the May 16-18 Oklahoma Regional at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater.

The Wildcats have qualified for NCAA Regionals for the first time since David Inglis took the reigns as head coach, and the 16th time in Director of Golf Pat Goss' 20-year tenure. NU has advanced out of Regional play eight times under Goss, most recently in 2011 when an epic final round charge at the Colorado Regional propelled NU into the top three and a berth at the NCAA National Championships.

Chicago's Big Ten Team last competed at Karsten Creek in 2009 as the squad earned a fourth-place team finish to earn a berth in the NCAA National Championships.

The Tom Fazio design has twice hosted the NCAA Championship, holding the event in 2003 and 2011. Additionally, the course served as the home to the Karsten Creek Collegiate in 1996, the NCAA Central Regional in 2001, the Ping/Golfweek Preview in 2002 and 2010 and the NCAA South Central Regional in 2009.

Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 16-18.  Thirteen teams and ten individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams.  The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.

The other 13 teams competing at the Oklahoma Regional are: Oklahoma State, Clemson, Oklahoma, Duke, Augusta, Purdue, Michigan State, Tennessee, Louisville, McNeese State, VCU, UMKC and Alabama State.

Inglis will send out a pair of seniors as well as a pair of sophomores and a freshman on Monday morning for 18 holes of play at the par-72, 7,418-yard Karsten Creek course. The second round will take place Tuesday before the final round on Wednesday. Live results will be available, courtesy of Golfstat.com.

Sophomore Dylan Wu has led the Wildcats in almost every statistical category this season, including a pair of third place finishes at The Boilermaker and Northwestern's home tournament - the Windon Memorial.

Senior Andrew Whalen has been on Wu's heels, stringing together an equally impressive campaign. Whalen has led the team with three top-10 finishes along with a season-best eighth-place finish at the Bridgestone Collegiate.

Senior Josh Jamieson will enter the final postseason run of his career. He has been a consistent force for Chicago's Big Ten Team as he is just one of three Wildcats, along with Wu and Whalen, to participate in every tournament this year.

Sophomore Sam Triplett will be heading to his first NCAA Regionals. With the ability to score low, Triplett shot a team low for the year at 8-under 64 at the Bridgestone Golf Collegiate during the fall season. That round tied for the fourth best individual round in school history.

Freshman Ryan Lumsden rounds out the Wildcat roster after boasting a career-best round of 67 in the Wildcats' regular-season finale at the Boilermaker. He has proven to be a force for Northwestern this year after a pair of top-10 finishes at the Puerto Rico Classic and the Boilermaker.

Northwestern is fresh off a sixth-place team finish at the Big Ten Championships that featured two top-15 individual performances in Wu and Jamieson. The Wildcats shot a final round of 4-under 284 to finish the 54-hole tournament at 9-over 873, six shots behind a fourth-place tie between Michigan and Michigan State.

Wu, who earned an NCAA Regional bid as an individual last season, led Northwestern in the individual standings at his second-career Big Ten Championships. The sophomore finished sixth overall at 3-under 213. Wu was named to the All-Big Ten second team after logging three top-10 finishes for NU this season.
