EVANSTON, Ill. — The Northwestern lacrosse program will host the 2016 Big Ten Women's Lacrosse Tournament starting this Thursday, May 5 at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium.
The Wildcats earned the No. 3 seed in the tournament with a 3-2 mark during Big Ten play and will play in the second quarterfinal game Thursday afternoon at approximately 1:30 against No. 6 seed Michigan. Rutgers and Ohio State will kick off the tournament at Thursday morning at 11.
Top-ranked Maryland earned the tournament's top seed and a bye to the semifinals as the regular-season champion and will play either Rutgers or Ohio State on Friday, May 6 at 5:30 p.m. Penn State also earned a first-round bye as the No. 2 seed and will face off against Northwestern or Michigan Friday night at 8.
The championship game will be played Sunday at noon. All five games will be broadcast to a national television audience on the Big Ten Network.
Tickets for each day are $8 for adults, $5 for youth/senior and $4 for groups of 15 or more. Fans should park in the north garage of the Henry Crown Sports Pavillion during the tournament. Parking costs $8 in the garage prior to 4 p.m. After 4 p.m., parking in the garage is free.
