TEMPE, Ariz. – No. 4 Northwestern heads to the Valley Of The Sun this weekend for the PING/ASU Invitational, the team's final event before the 2016 Big Ten Championships.

Head coach Emily Fletcher's lineup will feature sophomore Hannah Kim, freshman Stephanie Lau, junior Kacie Komoto, sophomore Sarah Cho and senior Suchaya Tangkamolprasert in the 5-count-4 format. Freshman Janet Mao will compete for the Wildcats as an individual.
The 2016 PING/ASU Invitational field features three of the Top-4 teams in the nation according to this weeks' Golfstat rankings in No. 1 Alabama, No. 3 UCLA and the No. 4 Wildcats. The leaderboard will include four more ranked in the Top-20 in No. 10 Arizona, No. 11 Arizona State, No. 13 Washington and No 17 UNLV.
The competition will be hosted at ASU Karsten Golf Course, a Pete Dye design (Par-72, 6,337 yards) that has been the home of the Sun Devils since opening in 1989.
Northwestern will tee off Round 1 on Friday, April 8, at 9:30 a.m. on Hole No. 1 paired with UCLA and Baylor. Tangkamolprasert will start things off for the Wildcats followed by Cho, Komoto, Lau and Kim in nine-minute increments.
Kim, the reigning Big Ten Player of the Year, is currently ranked No. 1 in the country by Golfstat. She will be paired in Friday's opening round with No. 4 Bronte Law of UCLA and No. 32 Laura Lonardi of Baylor in one of the tournament's elite groupings.
