FORT WORTH, Texas – Northwestern will look for its second straight top-10 win when it travels to TCU on Tuesday to take on the third-ranked Horned Frogs at noon.
The 14-1 Wildcats, ranked No. 7 nationally, beat in-state rival, and then-No. 8 Illinois, in a thrilling 4-3 match in front of a big crowd last Saturday at the Combe Tennis Center to secure the best start in program history. Northwestern has won 11 matches in a row dating back to the ITA Kick-Off Challenge in early February.
The Wildcats
Chicago's Big Ten Team is off to the best start ever. The team has risen to No. 7 in the latest ITA national rankings, and junior Konrad Zieba is currently ranked No. 8 in the country in singles. Zieba is 16-5 (9-3) and has 11 wins over ranked opponents this year.
Sam Shropshire (No. 83) and Strong Kirchheimer (No. 95) are also ranked. Kirchheimer is on a roll, having won 11 of his 12 dual matches to this point for an overall record of 17-3. Shropshire has six wins over ranked opponents, including a three-set victory over No. 8 Jared Hiltzik from Illinois to help Northwestern secure its win over Illinois.
Northwestern has outscored its opponents 57-13 during its 11-match win streak.

Tuesday's match marks the first ever meeting between these two teams.
