Rosendahl Ready for NCAA Championships

ATLANTA — Freshman Olivia Rosendahl will compete in her first NCAA Championships at the Georgia Institute of Technology as competition gets underway on Wednesday.

The Los Angeles native qualified for two events after finishing in first place and 12th place from the platform and 1-meter springboard, respectively, at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships last weekend. 

The four-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week will make her first diving appearance on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. CT, competing in the 1-meter trials. The consolation finals directly follow, and the finals session will be part of the evening competition that begins at 5 p.m. CT. 

She will have a day off and will return to competition with the platform dive on Sunday, with the trials at 11:15 a.m. CT. The same schedule will follow, with the consolation finals takling place after the conclusion of the trials and the finals as a component of the 5 p.m. CT finals session. 

Rosendahl seeks to extend her already-impressive freshman season in which she picked up a silver medal in the platform competition at the Big Ten Championships. She also registered a fourth-place finish in the 3-meter competition. In every regular season competition, Rosendahl finished in first place in from the 3-meter springboard. 

During the regular season, Rosendahl earned NU's first Big Ten Diver of the Week award since 2011. She also broke a 15-year Norris Aquatics Center pool record from the 1-meter springboard during a dual with Iowa.
