EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has the opportunity to extend its season as the Wildcats were selected to compete in the 2016 WNIT. The Wildcats received an at-large bid to the 64-team tournament and will host San Diego in a first-round matchup on Thursday, March 17, at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.

Second-round games will run March 19-22, Round three goes March 23-25, quarterfinals are March 26-28, and semifinals will be played March 30-31. The championship game will be played Saturday, April 2, and will be televised live on CBS Sports Network at 3 p.m. ET. All games are hosted by participating schools.
