EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will look to extend its four-match win streak against ranked opponents when it takes on No. 49 Kentucky Saturday at 1 p.m. inside the Combe Tennis Center.
The team returns to Evanston after a three-match road trip that featured wins against No. 24 Duke, No. 50 Rice and No. 60 Cornell.

Last Time Out
The Wildcats completed a sweep of Rice and Cornell over the weekend in Ithaca, N.Y., winning both matches by a score of 4-1.
The Northwestern Wildcats
Strong Kirchheimer has continued his strong play this year. Ranked 77th in the most recent ITA rankings, Kirchheimer has gone 6-0 in dual match play, improving his record to 12-2 for the year.
Freshman Ben Vandixhorn has been another bright spot for the Wildcats, going 4-1 in dual match play including a victory last weekend over Cornell's Karim Arem 6-2 7-6(7).
14th-ranked Konrad Zieba (3-2) and 47th-ranked Sam Shropshire (3-1) have also enjoyed successful seasons. Both did not complete their matches against Cornell, as the team had already clinched victory.
The Kentucky Wildcats
Kentucky's team features one player in the ITA rankings. William Bushamuka, ranked 25th, plays number one for Kentucky. He has a 6-0 record in dual match play this year.
The Wildcats also boast Nils Ellefsen, who has a 4-1 record, though he normally plays in the third slot behind first-year standout Ryotaro Matsumura (6-1).
History
This will be the second ever meeting between the two schools. Northwestern currently holds a 1-0 edge.
Next
This marks the beginning of a five-match home stand. The next team to visit Evanston will be No. 32 North Carolina State, who plays at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19.
