EVANSTON, Ill. — After claiming the top spot in both the 500 and 1,000-yard freestyle events last week during a dual meet at Notre Dame, Carter Page has been named Co-Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
The Sarasota, Fla., native turned in a time of 9:22.93 in the 1,000 free, which was over eight seconds faster than the runner-up. Page continued his impressive performance by posting a 4:34.01 mark in the 500-yard free to pick up another win for the Wildcats.
This is the second Freshman of the Week honor for Page. He previously earned the award on Oct. 28, 2015.
Northwestern returns to action this weekend when it hosts Iowa in a dual meet at 11 a.m. CT.
