IOWA CITY, Iowa – Freshman Ben Vandixhorn kept his weekend going with two more wins at the Big Ten Singles and Doubles Championships to advance to the semifinals of the singles draw.
Sixth-seeded Vandixhorn began the day with a win over No. 11-seed Matt Galush of Penn State in three exciting sets, 6-3, 1-6, 6-4. In the quarterfinals, he beat the No. 14-seed, Michigan's Kevin Wong, in straight sets, 7-5, 6-0 to secure his spot in the semifinals Monday morning.
The semifinals and championship match will be held Monday in Iowa City, beginning at 9 a.m.
