EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern junior Konrad Zieba is set to begin play at the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships Thursday in New York City.
Zieba qualified for the event by advancing to the quarterfinals at the All-American Championships in early October in Tulsa, Okla.
He posted a 6-1 mark in Tulsa and will put that record on the line against Auburn's Max Hinnisdaels in the first round of the singles draw at 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Hinnisdaels is the 107th ranked player in the country.
Zieba could potentially set up a rematch with Thai-Son Kwiatkowski from Virginia, the tournament's No. 1 overall seed, in the second round. Kwiatkowski handed Zieba his only loss so far in 2015.
